About Me

Liz Frank Godfrey grew up in a small Midwest town, with a large and boisterous family. As the youngest, Liz became a stealth sibling observer and adventurer – using the garden hose to make rivers in the 12’ x 12’ sandbox, producing magic shows, playing musical instruments, and vacationing across the country in the family station wagon. Growing up, Liz recalls visiting her school and city libraries, returning home with stacks of books to devour. Liz also discovered that writing her own poems and stories was as natural to her as drawing, painting, and molding intricate clay animals.

Liz currently enjoys writing stories with humor and heart, capturing a beautiful world for young readers with picture books and chapter books. Because Liz’s first career meant using data to tell stories as a health care data analyst and computer programmer, she also creates STEAM stories, focusing on the wonder of math, computer programming, art, and music. Liz works traditionally using ink, watercolor, colored pencil, and gouache, but also experiments with collage, fluid acrylics, charcoal, crayons, and oil pastel.
